The Late Larry O'Connor

Larry O'Connor will be well remembered for his constant good humour, and his happy smile.

The well-known Maudlintown man sadly passed away suddenly on Wednesday last at his home in Antelope Road. He was 62 years of age.

Larry was a man with a happy, cheery disposition.

A fellow who'd do 'hurt nor harm' on anyone, he was always quick with a cherry hello for anyone he met.

Larry worked in Wexford Creamery throughout his life. Indeed, he spent 43 years working in the Creamery, initially in the cheese packing department and later in milk production.

One of Larry's great passions in life was sport and he had a particular affection for his local club, St Mary's of Maudlintown.
In the early 1980s he was a selector for the St. Mary's Junior teams and travelled to all of the matches.

He loved all sport, and was very knowledgeable on the topic. He loved to show off his sporting knowledge at various table quizzes.

A very well-liked individual, he will be greatly missed by his family, neighbours and many friends.

He is survived by his sister, Marie 'Cissy' Murray; brothers Ned, Paddy and John, nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and many friends.

His remains were interred in St. Ibar's Cemetery, Crosstown on Friday following Requiem Mass in the Church of the Assumption, Bride Street.
