St Martin's must plan for Sunday's Wexford SHC final against St Anne's without Rory O'Connor after his appeal against a red card was upheld.
The Young Hurler of the Year nominee was involved in an off-the-ball incident during the second half of St Martin's 2-16 to 1-15 semi-final win over Ferns St Aidan's, for which he received a straight red card. Ferns also had Tommy Dwyer red-carded for a separate off-the-ball incident.
The decision to uphold O'Connor's red card is a huge blow to St Martin's hopes of beating St Anne's who accounted for Rapparees by 2-14 to 0-14 in the other semi-final.
TweetNo Rory O'Connor for the Pettits Supervalu Senior Hurling Final on Sunday as his red card ban has been upheld on appeal. Could be a big boost for St Annes.
