Wexford got their first points on the board in this year’s Allianz HL Division 1A after finishing with four-points to spare over Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh today.
Davy Fitzgerald’s charges came out on top on a scoreline of 1-18 to 0-17.
David Dunne netted the game’s only goal in the 27th minute but the first-half finished with the sides level – 1-7 to 0-10.
Aidan Walsh sent over four points for the Rebels while Patrick Horgan sent over five frees for the John Meyler managed outfit.
The crossbar denied Horgan a goal four minutes into the second-half.
At the opposite end of the field, Jack O’Connor raised six white flags (0-5 from frees) for the Model County while Cathal Dunbar contributed 0-3 from play.
