Kilkenny manager Brian Cody is adamant that Wexford will respond positively to the NHL semi-final defeat to their fierce rivals and neighbours.
The Cats produced an excellent performance combining work rate and intensity to easily see off the challenge of Wexford in their own backyard.
The manner of the result saw many other counties sit up and take notice of a Kilkenny side that many had written off this year, but now they are certainly considered to be back in the mix.
The sides meet in the fifth round of the new look Leinster senior hurling championship round robin series, which will be played on Sunday, June 9th.
Cody explained to the Wexford People that last Sunday's result will count for nothing when the sides meet then and he added that the Model County will probably learn more from the league clash than his charges will.
"That will bring a reaction from Wexford as they will be anxious to respond to that defeat," said Cody. "It will make them more determined."
