The late Noreen Garry The Cortoon-Lavally and Clonberne areas was shocked and saddened at the death in a tragic road crash near Mullingar of Noreen Garry, who was formerly Heverin from Cortoon. Mrs Garry (60), who moved to Mullingar in the 1960s and married local man Ciaran, was a keen member of Mullingar Shamrocks GAA Club, and served as the club's secretary for a long term. Members of her family in Cortoon have also been heavily involved with the he GAA over the years and several of her nephews and nieces are members of current Cortoon teams. The accident happened at Dalystown Mullingar, just a few hundred yards from Mullingar Golf Club, where she was a popular member.
