Crookedwood GAA club notes

March 20, 2017

League games.

We had mixed fortunes in our league games over the weekend. On a wet and windy St.Patricks morning our Junior team recorded a comfortable victory over a youthful Cullion side in Division 3. Credit must go to both teams for their performances in atrocious weather and heavy ground conditions. Well done to John Kiernan and Peter Coffey who made their debuts for the club and also to the returning Christopher Gilbert who made his first appearance in adult hurling for the club. All three made telling contributions during the game. On Sunday, on a better day for hurling, we faced Lough Lene Gaels in Division 1 on the St.Lomans 3G pitch. This was a free flowing sporting game from start to finish and there was very little between the sides at any stage in the game. Disappointingly we came lost out by a single point on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-13 in favour of the Gaels. Indeed this was a game we could've won but nonetheless it was a good display from the lads.
