Senior Manager 2020

We are delighted to have acquired the services of Castlepollard man, Barry Kennedy as our manager for 2020. Barry represented Westmeath as a player for the guts of twenty years and brings some managerial experience with him, having managed Brownstown for the last three years. We have no doubt that he will continue the good work that has been done in previous years with the panel. We wish him, the selectors and the players all the best for 2020. It would be remiss of me not to mention the impact of Mícheál Lawler in 2018 & 2019. Mícheál brought the best out of the panel in both years, firstly in 2018 by winning the Intermediate championship and in 2019 by winning Division 2 of the league and getting to our first ever senior quarter final. We thank him for his time and dedication and wish all the best for the future.

Christmas bag pack

We are in Buckleys Supervalu again this year from the 21st to the 24th December for our bag pack. Plenty of help is needed for this fundraiser so we are asking all players (over 16), parents of underage, committee and general members to lend a hand for at least a two & a half slot on one of the days. Please contact any committee member to put your name down. Crookedwood GAA would like to sincerely than Buckleys Supervalu for giving us this brilliant fundraising opportunity again this year, it is really appreciated.

Lotto

Charity fun run/walk

There will be a charity fun run/walk on St.Stephens day in Crookedwood GAA starting at 12pm. All proceeds raised will be donated to LARCC, please come along and support, its also a great way to work off the turkey and sweets.

Westmeath GAA

The Westmeath hurlers had a good win over Carlow in round 1 of the Walsh cup in Kinnegad in tough conditions on Sunday. Well done to all involved, especially Crookedwood’s Shane McGovern who started the game and had a hand in our first goal. The county footballers also started the O’Byrne cup with a good away win over Wexford. Again; well done to all concerned.
