unceasing onslaught, with solid performances in defence with Shane

and saves to keep the home team in this game. Alan Stone and Paddy
Holloway battled hard and employed a keen desire to get forward
creating opportunities for their youthful front line. The scoreboard

Results : ACFL D5 Castledaly 2-11(17) St. Joseph's 1-8(11)
ACFL Div 5 Castledaly 2-11 (17) St Joseph's 1-8 (11). On Sunday
morning Castledaly welcomed St Joseph's and despite the intense cold
and wintery weather, battled hard to collect full points for their
efforts. An early goal from Conor Foley settled the home team as well
as the dependable boot of Mark Kearney from placed balls. St Joseph's
pressed near the end of the first half scoring 1-1 and put pressure on
the home side. In response some brilliant quick-thinking from the
highly industrious Emmet Heavin placed France Rushe in front of goal
to coolly flick the ball to the net to leave Castledaly leading 2-7 to
1-2 at the break.
After the break the visitors again closed the gap and were awarded a
penalty but a stunning save from Castledaly’s outstanding captain and
custodian Eanna Duffy kept his team’s lead intact. In this
competition Eanna has been well supported in defence by Shane Dolan
Jack Kearney Shane Fitzpatrick Damien Stone, and Eanna has regularly
impressed with his list of top class saves throughout this contest.
Castledaly forwards responded to their captains heroics in kind and
worked a number of excellent points at the far end, notably by sub
Eoin Fleming and free kick specialist Mark Kearney.
