All Ireland Final

Last Saturday our table quiz team took part in the Scór na nOg All Ireland final in Castlebar, Co Mayo. Our team consisted of Erin Heeney, Darragh Seery, Peter and Philip Reynolds. The team had worked really hard over the last few months and had prepared diligently but as in any quiz , it really is all on the day and the quizmaster! As it turned out, on the day,  one team, last years champions, Cornafin, from Cavan, stood apart from the rest and were deserving champions. Our team were part of a very tight group of teams fighting for runners up positions but we fell short by a few marks. Great credit has to go to the team and their mentors, Shane Heraty and Oliver Reynolds, for the huge preparation that they have put in over the last number of months. They  truly have been great ambassadors for our club.

Planning Ahead

Although it's still in the early stages of 2019, Ballinagore GAA is already planning ahead for 2020 when the club will celebrate its centenary. The club is preparing to embark on exciting developments at our grounds to coincide with the celebration of 100 years of gaelic football being played in and around our village. A lot of work and planning has already taken place and we intend to hold an information night with an official launch of our plans over the next number of weeks. We hope that our club membership, past and present, and our community will rally behind us, get involved and support us. Details will be included in our club notes and on Facebook so keep an eye out and get talking!
