JFC semi-final v The Downs

Our JFC semi-final next weekend will be against The Downs after their 2-14 to 0-11 quarter-final victory over St. Paul’s last Sunday. Date, time and venue wasn’t to hand at the time of writing.

Ladies bow out

Hard luck to our ladies who lost to a very strong Coralstown/Kinnegad side in their intermediate semi-final in Kinnegad last Tuesday night.

Forced to line out without cruciate ligament victims Triona Durkan and Nicola McDaniel, as well as Deirdre Robbins who was injured in the game against Ballycomoyle last week, the girls fought hard and would have been closer but for the concession of two late goals.

Thanks to the management team of Mickey Kelly, Donal Fox, Myra Pettit and Bernie Barrett and best of luck to Coralstown/Kinnegad in the final.

Team: Sabrina Jackson; Jill Draper, Tara Dennehy, Jenny Barrett; Gillian Heeney, Becky Scally, Leah Farrell; Sarah Guilfoyle, Aoibhinn Jackson; Niamh Durkan, Mairead McCormack, Aiden Pettit; Niamh Daly, Laura Hannon, Aine Pettit. Subs: Eimear Fox, Tara Fox, Orla Brennan and Eimear Heeney.

Underage

Congrats to the Kilbeggan/St Joseph's U12 girls who defeated Coralstown/Kinnegad by 4-11 to 2-3 last week to qualify for the Division A championship final and to the U14 girls who beat Shandonagh by 1-10 to 2-4 in Streamstown to qualify for the Division C championship final.

Well done also to the Kilbeggan/St. Joseph’s U14 boys on their 7-7 to 3-7 victory over Cill Oige in the Division 1 Shield semi-final in Rosemount last Saturday. They will now face St. Loman’s in the final.
