U11 Westmeath Go Games - 30th July 2018 - Athlone v Caulry
As part of the U11 Westmeath Go Games our u11 team hosted Caulry on a fine summers evening. This was a very tight contest in the first half with both sides trading some great scores and  leaving it all square at the interval. Caulry came out in the second half and took the early advantage with two quick goals, however Athlone settled and with some fine play from all the lads they pegged the lead back. In the last five minutes Athlone took a couple of fine points from play and edged out a narrow victory on a scoreline of 4-9 to 4-7. Well done to both sides on a very sporting and competitive game. Next up for this team is an away tie to Tubberclair on the 13th August.

Athlone U12 Westmeath Games
Our u12 team played St Lomans on Wednesday last in the Westmeath League. Depleted in numbers due to summer holidays some of our u11s and u10s stepped up to the mark. St Lomans started the stronger and three goals in the first half left them in a very strong position at interval on a score-line of 3-5 to 1-2. The Athlone lads put on a very spirited second half display only conceding 2 points. Unfortunately it wasn't enough and the final score was 1-6 to 3-7 in favour of St Lomans. Well done to all the lads who gave it their all on a very wet evening. Athlone junior ladies v Mullingar in Div 4 league final at 8pm - TBC

Athlone U11 boys are away to Tubberclair in Go Games league at 6:30

Tuesday 14th August
Athlone U16 girls are away to Milltown in championship Div 3 at 7pm

Wednesday 15th August
Athlone U12 boys are at home to Shandonagh at 7pm
Gaelic Masters semi-final at 8pm

Underage Football
