Feile na Gael

Delvin                                    1-4
St. Moninna's, Killeavy      2-6

We travelled to Ringtown on Friday evening for our opening two games in the National Feile. We struggled to get into the match for the first few minutes and did well to stay in touch 0-3 to 0-1 at the break. We started the second half well with points from Sean Hoctor and Oisin Kelly bringing us back level. Killeavy went ahead again but an opportunist Enda Newman goal brought us back within a point as we approached the final minutes. But the Armagh side struck for a late goal to secure the points.

Scorers:- Enda Newman (1-0), Oisin Kelly (0-2), Steven Cassidy (0-1), Seán Hoctor (0-1)

Delvin                        2-7
St. Vincent's.           1-6

In our second game against the Ringrown/Crookedwood side we started well with opening half goals from Enda Newman and Oisin Kelly and a fine defensive performance led by James Murtagh and Karl McCormack ensured we went in at the break up 2-3 to 0-3. St. Vincent's came back into it in the second half but some fine points from Steven Cassidy, Kelly and Newman meant we finished winners by 4. We now look forward to meeting our visiting team Omagh St. Enda's on Saturday morning in Delvin at 10.45am

Scorers:- Oisin Kelly (1-4), Enda Newman (1-1), Steven Cassidy (0-2)

Delvin              1-3
St Enda's        1-3

We played our visiting club St. Enda's on Saturday morning in a tight encounter and it was the Tyrone side who started better going into a 3 point lead but our lads battled well to get the last 2 points of the half to go in at the break down 0-3 to 0-2. As we entered the closing minute of the game we were a goal down but a super Steven Cassidy goal ensured a share of the points. This meant we finished second in our group and advanced to the quarter final stage of the cup competition and a trip to Ballinamore Co. Leitrim to take on Longford Slashers.

Scorers:- Steven Cassidy (1-1), Seán Cassidy (0-1), Oisin Kelly (0-1)

Delvin                               0-6
Longford Slashers        3-6

After a quick dash to Leitrim for a 2.30 thrown in we had some great scores in the first half from Oisin Kelly and Billy Kelleghan to leave it all square at the break with a score of Delvin 0-5 Longford 1-2. We found things  difficult in the second period and our Feile adventure came to an end as Slashers finished strongly to win 3-6 to 0-6.

Scorers:- Oisin Kelly (0-5), Billy Kelleghan (0-1)

Afterwards we returned to Delvin where the young men had a great evening entertaining our visitors and made some great new friendships. Thanks once again to all the volunteers who made this weekend possible. A huge thanks to all club members who spent many hours preparing the GAA Park and it looked so well because of your efforts.
