St Pauls Clonmellon notes

April 17, 2018

Adult fixture

After over 3 months of training and several false starts, our Junior footballers finally get their league campaign underway this coming Saturday evening when they take on Milltownpass in the league in Clonmellon at 6pm. The lads and the coaching team led by Cormac Davey have put in some great work both in training and in some challenge matches so let hope they can get their 2018 league campaign underway with a win. Please pop down to the club grounds next Saturday to shout on the lads.

Club Lotto

Please support our Club Lotto as this supports the day to day costs of running the club. Club lotto envelopes can be got from any of the local shops and pubs, at Bingo on Monday nights or from any of the committee members. The Lotto draw takes place every Monday night during bingo in the local Community Centre. The Cost is just €2 a ticket. Currently the Jackpot stands at €2,720. There was no winner of last nights jackpot where the winning numbers were 7,15, 19 and 28. 20 euro winners on the night were Caroline Walsh, Kitty Dolan and Maureen Conlon - well done to all

Clothes collection

Start collecting those bags of unwanted clothes, blankets, curtains etc as the club will be starting its annual clothes collection in the next couple of weeks. More details to follow.......

Dunnes Stores Mullingar Bag Pack

St. Pauls GFC are having a fund raising bag pack in Dunnes Stores Mullingar on the weekend of May 18th and 19th. Over the next few weeks we will be looking for volunteers to help out packing bags for a couple of hours on either the Friday or the Saturday. We will need about 30 people to give an hour or two and the more volunteers we get the easier is will be on everyone so please help us if you can.

Club membership

Club membership fees are now overdue. Membership can be paid to any of the committee members. If you are not registered you cannot play or train for Insurance reasons.

Juvenile details

7 week indoor nursery comes to an end.
After 7 fun filled Friday nights, our indoor nursery wrapped up last Friday. This fine bunch of footballers will now join up with the rest of our U-6 players every Monday night down at our club grounds for training. St. Pauls GFC would also like to thank the parents who helped out in the hall each of the last 7 weeks, they seemed to enjoyed it as much as the kids did! We hope their valuable help will continue on Monday nights at the outdoor training going forward. So we hope to see ye all on Monday evenings down at our club grounds and as always new players are welcome to join us.

Results

U-14

It was a though day at the office last Thursday evening for our U-14's who were well beaten away to Tyrellspass. Thanks to those who made the trip over for the game and remember its early in the year and the lads have very little football played so performances and results will improve as the year goes on. Our U-14's next game is against Milltownpass in Milltownpass this coming Sunday, April 22nd at 11:30am.

U-12
Our U-12's were unlucky not to come away with the win when they made the trip down to Ballycomoyle last Wednesday evening for a league game against the home side. A last minute goal from Ballycomoyle left the final score reading 1-5 apiece. Well done to Ray, Brendan and all the team on their performance.

U-16

Hard luck to our U-16 footballers who lost out by a single point to home side Inny Shamrocks played in Ballinacargy last Monday evening. It was a great performance by the lads considering it was their 1st game of the year and it bodes well for the season ahead. Team - Adam Mulvany, Oisin Kiernan, Aaron Fenlon, Conor Fenlon, Joshua Doherty, Conor Norton, Jamie Reilly, Ben McCormack, Jody Browne, Oisin Moroney, Rohan Morley, Mark Cully, Ryan Forde, Conor Rennicks, Tomas Collins. U-16 training continues this coming Thursday evening, a text will be sent out with further details. Their next game is against Moate in Delvin next Monday night at 7pm.
