The return of some players from injury has strengthened Galway ahead of their clash with Waterford at Walsh Park this weekend.

The Tribesmen are looking to bounce back from their defeat to Limerick last time out, while there clash with Tipperary last weekend was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.

O’Neill states in the Connacht Tribune that the aim is to create a competitive squad and with the likes of Joe Canning, Tadhg Haran, Niall Burke and Conor Cooney back in action as well as Aidan Harte being available for Sunday's clash, the squad is taking on a more familiar look.

“We will be looking at the opposition and a few more guys should be available for the Waterford game,” stated the Galway manager.

“Walsh Park is a difficult place but a win down there would be great. “Our greater emphasis is on creating a competitive squad for the championship. To date, we are fairly happy, although there were elements of the Limerick game we weren’t.”
