On Sunday evening next, Waterford and Munster senior hurling champions Ballygunner take on Tallow in the third round of the county SHC, while seeking their 30th consecutive win in the campaign.

To have won your previous 29 Waterford senior hurling championship matches is a remarkable achievement for a side that have dominated the county scene over the past six years.

Ballygunner lost to Passage in the 2013 county final, but have lifted the title every year since and are once again favourites to make it six-in-a-row.

Already they have won their opening two matches and a win against Tallow will guarantee them a place in the knockout stages for yet another year.
