Shane Dowling has been drafted into the Limerick team to face Waterford in the Munster SHC at the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday.

In the only change from last weekend's thrilling draw with Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, the Na Piarsaigh sharpshooter replaces the suspended Aaron Gillane in the full-forward line.

Making his first start for the Treaty County since last July's All-Ireland qualifier defeat to Kilkenny, Dowling will be expected to take up the free-taking duties in the absence of Gillane who is serving a one-match suspension following his red card against the Rebels.

Limerick (Munster SHC v Waterford): Nickie Quaid; Sean Finn, Mike Casey, Richie English; Diarmaid Byrnes, Declan Hannon, Dan Morrissey; Darragh O'Donovan, Cian Lynch; Gearoid Hegarty, Kyle Hayes, Tom Morrissey; Seamus Flanagan, Shane Dowling, Graeme Mulcahy.

Subs: Barry Hennessy, Paul Browne, Tom Condon, David Dempsey, Seamus Hickey, Richie McCarthy, Barry Murphy, Barry Nash, William O'Donoghue, David Reidy, Pat Ryan.
