Limerick manager John Kiely is adamant that it would be ridiculous to look any further than this weekend's clash against Waterford.
This year's Munster SHC has resulted in the most enthralling campaign ever as the new round robin series has certainly not disappointed.
All of the five counties are still battling for a place in the top three at the very least and even though Limerick are unbeaten in the campaign after two rounds, Kiely admitted to the Limerick Leader that they still have a lot of work to do.
This Sunday, they host a Waterford side that have one point after two games and badly need a win against the Shannonsiders, who are many people's favourites for the Munster title, but Kiely is certainly not buying into that thought process.
"It has the makings of a great game and there is an awful lot at stake. At the moment we are simply looking to get enough points on the board to get out of the group and this talk of contenders is nonsense in my view," said Kiely.
"You are only as good as your last game and whilst we are happy with our last game, next Sunday night it won't have been our last game - the Waterford game will be.
"We have an awful lot to do - every single team in the group can come out of it and every team in the group can fail to come out of it and that's the way it is.
"For us, it's full focus on Sunday and try and put in the best performance we can and looking beyond Sunday evening is poppycock. Anything is possible in this championship as we have seen. It's unpredictable - very unpredictable."
