The Irish community in Philadelphia has been rocked by the sudden and untimely passing of GAA stalwart Liam Hegarty.
A man with proud roots in Kells, Co Meath and in Donegal, Mr Hegarty was a member and former player with Donegal Philadelphia GFC and current vice chairman of the USGAA Board.
He was also chairman of the Continental Youth Championships (CYC) for the past four years and, as most recently as this past weekend, he was involved in helping bring the PwC Football All Stars to Philadelphia.
St Pats Donegal GFC in Philadelphia and the CYC Steering Committee paid tribute to the father of four on Facebook with the below posts.
May he rest in peace.Tweet
