April 04, 2017

The Rangers Gaelic Football Club is pleased to announce that our 45th annual dance will be held at Gaelic Park Auditorium, on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 at 7.30pm. This dance will be our main fundraiser for the year and we ask our members and friends to help make it an outstanding success. It is with great pleasure that we avail of this opportunity to recognize two Gentlemen who exemplify the remarkable essence that make-up the core of our Club- Our Guests of Honor, Joe Grace and Ger (Chuck) O' Connor and also to pay tribute to our 2016 outstanding Intermediate Player of the Year, Donnacha O' Dwyer. Our festivities will be further enriched with presentation of awards to our U12, 2016 Championship & League team, U8 & U10 CYC Champions, and to our Scor na nOg Novelty Act winners.

Joe hails from Silvermines, Co. Tippeary and since his arrival in New York in 1985 he has brought a wealth of hurling experience and expertise to the New York Hurling community having played with his club, Silvermines, and brought him up the ranks in the under-age right through Senior Level. Joe continued his hurling career in New York playing for his County Team Tippeary at both Senior and Junior levels commanding the corner back position. Joe continues his success in Juvenille Hurling as a coach with Le Cheile Hurling Club and is the manager of New York Hurling Feile team travelling to Ireland in June to compete in the 2017 Connacht Hurling Feile competition. This is a historic achievement as it is the first underage New York Hurling team to compete in Ireland. Joe is married to his neighbor Catherine Griffin, Nenagh, Co. Dylan has represented New York in Ireland with the Feile Peile na nOg Team in 2012 winning an All-Ireland medal. Last year he represented New York in U18 Hurling at World Games held in Croke Park. Joe is an excellent role model for development of our young players.
