Thomas McCurtains club notes

April 02, 2019

Training continues for all teams with the Underage Football starting back in Campion School in Wednesday evenings from Wednesday.

There was a great win for our footballers over Harlesden Harps in the Championship Preliminary Round in Greenford on Saturday afternoon. A scrappy first half saw neither team take advantage of the opposition mistakes and nothing separated the sides at half time with the score at 1-06 a piece. The second half started much the same with both sides scoring a second goal early on. With 15 minutes to go the East London lads held a slim advantage of one point but finished the stronger and the Macs third goal late on made sure of the result.

Unfortunately the Ladies lost out to KKG earlier that morning. The score line didn't reflect the balance of play with the McCurtains Ladies having some very good plays throughout the game.

Pop along to O'Neills Leytonstone on Friday night for our Quiz Night from 7.00pm with quizmaster Mervyn Brown. There will be a raffle on the night with some fantastic prizes. Bible Code Sundays will also be playing in O'Neills and anyone who takes part in the quiz will get free entry.

On Saturday the Football Ladies are playing the Mary Feehan Cup in Greenford, while on Sunday our Mens Footballers take on Harlesden Harps again, this time in the Murphy Cup in Goodmayes at 12.30pm.
