Fr Rocks defeated by Trillick
Fr Rocks return to senior football was upset by a stubborn Trillick team who took full points from Paddy Cullen Park on Saturday afternoon. Cookstown started the game in lethargic mood. Indeed a Martin Murray converted free was all they had to show after twenty minutes of play. It was this poor start which was to ultimately cost them the game, with Trillick building up a seven point lead during this period. Fr Rocks did begin to claw their way back into the game and kicked the last three scores of the half, with two Owen Mulligan frees and a Conor Mullan point from play leaving the scoreline 0-4 to 1-5 in favour of the visitors at half time. In the second half Fr Rocks increased their effort and work rate and fired over the opening score after just thirty seconds. Trillick however with a packed defence were playing some clever counter attack football and they managed to edge further ahead with two converted frees. The final fifteen minutes of the game was dominated by the home side and frees from Martin Murray and Owen Mulligan, were followed by a superb long range effort from Raymond Mulgrew to leave four points in the game. The final ten minutes saw Fr Rocks bombard the Trillick goal, and a disallowed goal was to prove crucial in the deciding the outcome of the game. A last gasp goal from Conor Mullan was not enough for the Rocks who were beaten on a final scoreline of 1-8 to 1-9. The team lined out as follows; M Rea, R Pickering, P McGurk, Philip Kelly, S McGarrity, B Hughes, C O'Hare, G Fitzpatrick, C Mullan (1-1), R Mulgrew (0-1), Barry Mulligan, Brian Mulligan, M Murray (0-2 frees), O Mulligan (0-4, 3 frees), J Gilmore. Subs; Mark O'Connor for Philip Kelly, D Casey for J Gilmore, B Kelly for S McGarrity. There is no senior fixture this week due to the Tyrone game against Dublin.

An Mhaigh Tír na nÓg G.A.C. Notes
Men's Senior Team
An Mhaigh senior footballers played host to Kildress in the opening round of the All-County League Division One, last Saturday afternoon, and were determined to get their campaign off to a winning start. Heavy underfoot conditions and a strong cross-field wind were not conducive to free-flowing football but Mattie McGleenan's men overcame this and tough opposition to grind out a morale-boosting two point victory.
At the end of an evenly contested first half, the sides were deadlocked on 0-4 apiece. An Mhaigh went in front for the first time with a superb Sean Cavanagh point 15 seconds after the restart, and pulled further ahead five minutes later when a great run by substitute Eunan Deeney ended with Peter Mallon flicking the ball to the Kildress net for the game's decisive score.
To their credit, the visitors fought back well. Despite the best efforts of Niall Conlon and Philip Jordan in the Moy defence, Kildress kicked the next four scores to reduce the margin to just a point with four minutes still to play. Thankfully, the impressive Colm Cavanagh was on hand in the closing stages to fist the final point and help earn his side a spirited 1-8 to 0-9 win.
Scorers: Sean Cavanagh (0-5, 4 frees), Peter Mallon (1-0), Ryan Mellon (0-1), Colm Cavanagh (0-1); Kris Kavanagh (0-1, 1 free). League Position: Played 1, Won 1, Drawn 0, Lost 0, Points 2. An Mhaigh's next game in Division One is away to Clonoe on Sunday 18th April.
Men's Reserve Team
Last Saturday's A.C.L. reserve game between An Mhaigh and Kildress fell victim to the recent spell of bad weather as the main playing pitch at Páirc Thír na nÓg was only fit to host one fixture at the weekend. The match will now be played in Moy this Saturday afternoon (10th April) at 4.00pm.
Ladies Senior Team

League Position: Played 1, Won 1, Drawn 0, Lost 0, Points 2. For more information on training and forthcoming fixtures, contact Martin Deeney, Paud Loughran or Paul Dynes.
Girls Under 18 Team
An Mhaigh Under 18 girls maintained their impressive start to the league with another excellent home win on Easter Monday. Urney were the visitors to Páirc Thír na nÓg for Moy's second league outing of the season and, despite difficult weather conditions, both sides served up some entertaining fare.
The Sky Blue cailíní faced into a very strong wind in the first half but coped well with the elements to hold a slender one point lead (2-4 to 2-3) at the break. Moy's work rate all through was admirable and, even though Urney provided stern opposition, the home side pulled away in the second half thanks to some committed defending and well taken scores at the other end. Final Score: An Mhaigh 5-12 Urney 2-6.
Team & Scorers: Catherine Duffy; Roisin Hamill, Laura Kelly; Katherine Hughes (0-1), Roisin Jordan, Aoife Hamill; Niamh Kelly and Lucy McMahon (capt); Eimear Swail (0-5), Katherine Daly, Aine Swail (1-1); Ellie McCance (2-1), Sophie Lavery (2-4). Subs used: Niamh Gillen, Grace McCormack, Bronagh McConville and Jill Sheridan. Other subs: Kerrie Cunniffe, Rebecca Donnelly, Sarah Kerr and Caoimhe Lynch.
League Position: Played 2, Won 2, Drawn 0, Lost 0, Points 6. Moy's next league game is at home to Stewartstown this Thursday evening (8th April) at 7.00pm. For more information on training and fixtures, contact Niall Conlon, Colin Mackle or Sinéad McNicholl.
Boys Under 14 Team
The top two teams in Under 14 league section 3A came face to face last Saturday morning when An Mhaigh travelled to the home of high-flying Beragh. Both sides went into this vital clash sporting a proud 100% winning record from their opening three fixtures but it was the Moy lads who would remain unbeaten as they recorded a stunning 5-7 to 1-8 victory to move two points clear at the top of the table.
Team mentor Marty Conroy said afterwards: "We were given a stern test by the home side who deservedly led 1-5 to 1-2 at the break, their goal coming from the penalty spot. We re-grouped at half-time and then produced a devastating four goal burst in the first ten minutes, while restricting Beragh to just three more points to seal the win. This was a fantastic result considering we were missing seven players and had to change our team around."
Team & Scorers: Jordan Conroy; Patrick Mackle, Turlough Kelly (0-2); Ryan Casey, Chris O'Neill, Eoin Kelly; Ross Lavery (1-2) and John Millar; Francie Kelly (2-0), Rory Magee (1-1), Oisin McKeown; Declan Conroy (1-1), Shay Armstrong (0-1). Subs used: Shea Devlin (25 mins), Patrick Lavery (25 mins), Jack Campbell (35 mins), Mark Regan (45 mins) and Conor Foster (45 mins). Other subs: Patrick Daly, Matthew Collins, Eoghan Kelly and Michael Quinn.
League Position: Played 4, Won 4, Drawn 0, Lost 0, Points 8. Training continues every Wednesday evening from 7.00pm to 8.15pm at Moy pitch. This Saturday (10 April) will see the Moy boys play in the preliminary round of the championship away to unbeaten Glenelly. Bus will leave the clubrooms at 9.50am.
Meanwhile, Moy's next league game will be away to Tattyreagh on Tuesday 13th April at 6.45pm. For more information on training and fixtures, contact Paul Kelly, Aidan Coleman or Marty Conroy.

Sean Conlon - Unsung Hero
Congratulations to Sean Conlon who is An Mhaigh G.A.C.'s Unsung Hero for the month of April. As our club's long-standing Grounds Co-ordinator, Sean has done a wonderful job preserving and maintaining both our main playing field and new training pitch at Páirc Thír na nÓg.
Along with his hard-working Grounds Committee, Sean has been extremely busy in recent times marking the lines out on both fields and keeping the pitches in tip-top condition for matches and daily training sessions. The development of our training pitch has also seen Sean hard at work in recent times erecting new perimeter fencing and ensuring that our grounds are safe and secure for all club members and visitors.
This month's Unsung Hero has been an avid follower of An Mhaigh football teams down through the years and his outstanding service to the club has also seen him previously pick up the Club Person of the Year award. A respected member of our senior football squad's backroom team, Sean represents all that is good about the GAA volunteer.
If you would like to nominate anyone for our club's Unsung Hero of the Month, please contact myself or any member of the club committee. Please state the name of the person who you wish to nominate and the reason for your choice.

Junior The reserve team drew their game after coming from behind after the set back of an early goal. With the game drawing to a close they seemed to have earned all points before a late penalty for Owen roes as a result of the ball apparently being touched on the ground, gave the opposition the opportunity to draw level. The game ended 2 .09 each, M Holland scoring both of Cloghers goals.
Junior Game.
Clogher in this game came from 0 05 to 0 01 in the first half before some positional changes saw Damian Connolly(captain) go to centre field from Full Back resulting in Clogher going in at half time all square 0 05 each. Clogher  then went ahead ahead      0 08 to 0 05 before Owen Roes scored  further 2 points .The game was virtually won after a disputed wide ball resulted in Clogher winning the kick out  with Damian Connolly racing through to finish to the net. The game finished Clogher 1 08 to Owen Roes 0 07.

Youth
The U14's had a disappointing defeat in their league campaign on Saturday at the hands of a very strong Stewartstown team. Ardboe started the first half very well and the scores were level until 5 minutes before the half time whistle when Stewartstown scored 1 goal and 1 point putting them into the lead. Ardboe came out in the second half fighting, however Stewartstown took control of the game in the last 20 mins and won with a scoreline of:  Stewartstown 5-04 Ardboe 1-09. The next U14 league game is a home game against Clonoe on Tuesday 13th April at 7pm. Training resumes as normal.  Youth Officers Enda Teague and Niall Muldoon would like to thank all those who attended the quiz on Thursday night in aid of the youth teams. Senior
The Seniors and Reserves kicked off their 2010 League campaign against Coalisland on Saturday evening. The Reserve game was dominated by Ardboe in the first half with some good scores coming from Gavin Wylie and Anthony Devlin. Half time score Ardboe 1-05 Coalisland 0-01. In the second half Ardboe continued to dominate and added another 6 points to the scoreboard to complete a convincing win. Final score Ardboe 1-11 Coalisland 0-05. The first half of the senior game started slowly for Ardboe. Ardboe's first two points came from frees taken by Kyle Coney and Frank McGuigan. In the 6th Minute Brian McGuigan was through for a goal, unfortunately this was intercepted by the Coalisland goal keeper. Coalisland then took their chance at goal in the 19th Minute. This was well saved by Ardboe keeper Ryan Coleman. The 25th minute of the first half saw a minor altercation which resulted in Martin McKeown getting sent off for a second bookable offence. Frank McGuigan and Kyle Coney converted another two frees and Ryan Coleman made another excellent save just before the half time whistle. Half Time score Coalisland 0-07 Ardboe 0-04. The second half of the game saw Coalisland enter a period of dominance in which they converted a total of two frees and 5 points from play. Ardboe started the second half with a good point taken by Mickey Coleman and another free by Kyle Coney. Kyle Coney hit the net with an excellent goal near the end of the second half however Coalisand responded with two successive points to win with a score line: Coalisland 0-14 Ardboe 1-07. Round Two of the Senior and Reserve League is a home fixture against Killyclogher on Sunday 18th April. Good Luck to Brian, Tommy and Kyle who will be representing Tyrone Seniors in the crucial League match against Dublin in Healy Park on Sunday. Congratulations to Senior player John McConville who got engaged to Ardboe Ladies Player Karen Quinn on Easter Sunday!
