Storm Ciara couldn’t even hold back our young Hoops on Sunday night when the Centre was the venue for our Youth Presentation. The hall filled up well before the 7:30 kick off and our Chairman, Martin Russell welcomed everyone to the event and talked them through the running order for the night. The reins were then handed over to our youth officers of Kevin Hughes and Philip Donaghy who called the teams and their management up on stage to receive their certificates and credit for the time and effort they gave up for the green and white of Killeeshil throughout the previous year. The common theme that shone through from every management team was the dedication and effort put in by every youth member throughout the year, we’re blessed that all our teams have a never say die attitude and very thankful to all the parents who get the players to and from their training and games on time and with little fuss. The evening finished of with the individual awards with U14 ladies player of the year going to Rachael Nugent, Caoimhe Gormley picked up the U16 ladies player with Cara McCoubrey being awarded the most improved player of the year. The Minor ladies award and the overall ladies youth player of the year will be presented at the Dinner Dance. On the boys teams, Micheal Carty won the U14 player of the year, Matthew Kelly won the U16 award, Eoin McGlinchey picked up the most improved player of the year with Conor McCool claiming the overall youth player of the year, again Minor player of the year will be presented at the Dinner Dance. That sets us up well for the 2020 season where nearly all of our youth teams have already began their training regimes.
Our membership is now open for the year with our new Club Registrar Emma Donaghy chomping at the bit to get as many members as possible onto the GAA system. Membership for the 2020 season has been set at £40 for Adult and £15 for Youth and OAP’s. We’ll also soon be relaunching our Cairde Chill Iseal membership so keep an eye on further information about how to sign up or renew your plans.
Preparations are now at an advanced stage for our upcoming Club Dinner Dance, the event will be held in Quinn’s Corner on Friday 28th February and tickets are on sale at the minute. With so long having passed from our last Club Dinner Dance this will be a great occasion for members young and old to get together and reminisce on the past and plan for the future and see and hear about the healthy state of Killeeshil GFC. Recent successes will be celebrated and our team awards will be handed out on the night. To book your ticket call the Emma D on 07543891840 or Emma M on 07857387422.
Feile may seem a fair bit away at the end of June but since Tyrone is one of the host Counties, Killeeshil will be a host Club and we will be hosting both a boys and girls Feile team during the event. A lot of organising will be going on to make sure we will be ready for the event and the first thing we need will be host families where players from visiting clubs will be accommodated by our parents. More information will be coming in due course but immediately we need parents of both our U14 teams to consider becoming hosts, all relevant checks will have to take place but again our Club will organise all the details. If your son or daughter is playing U14 football this year and you’d like to be consider as a host then call 07920517282 and we’ll set the wheels in motion.
Killeeshil GFC sends its sincere condolences to The McLaughlin Family, Ramelton, on the death of Mary and The Sinclair Family, Dungannon, on the death of Mary. Mary, Queen of the Gael, Pray for them.
Please keep up with all things GAA on our Club Facebook Page, Killeeshil GFC.
