Tyrone's physicality will be too much for Kerry - Cavanagh

Kerry's Sean O'Shea holds possession ahead of Tyrone's Kieran McGeary

Sean Cavanagh has predicted that Tyrone will have too much physically for Kerry in Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

Mickey Harte’s men are 6/4 outsiders to topple the Kingdom at Croke Park but Cavanagh can’t see the Munster champions matching his home county’s physical approach nor nullifying their threat inside.

“Tyrone are experts at shutting out opposition key players and Sean O’Shea, David Moran and David Clifford will find that out with interest,” the three-time All-Ireland winner wrote in his column for the Irish Daily Star.

“But the big question is whether Kerry’ young guns can physically impose themselves and defend like the same young maniacs that graced Croke Park 16 years ago in white.

“I think not. Tyrone will have physically too much for Kerry across the pitch and their defensive system will nullify Kerry’s attack somewhat.

“I just don’t see who Kerry can use to stop (Cathal) McShane and Mattie Donnelly if, as expected, they start up front together. Tyrone to win by a couple of points.”
