Former Tyrone footballer Ciaran Gourley believes that the current Red Hand crop still have a chance of reaching the FL1 final.
Following a poor start to the campaign which saw them lose their opening two matches, Tyrone have gone unbeaten with two wins and a draw catapulting them up the table.
They are currently fifth, but only a point separates Mickey Harte's side and the three teams above them, with Kerry out on their own on ten points.
Tyrone have Dublin (away) and Galway (home) in their last two games and Gourley feels that they can get something from both fixtures.
“I think everyone got carried away when they saw Tyrone lose their first couple of matches,” said the three-time All-Ireland winner.
“When I was playing with Tyrone we sometimes had bad starts to the season. It’s not the end of the world and they’ve shown that in the last two matches.
“I think we’ll go into the Dublin game with a lot of confidence. They aren’t really setting the world alight at the moment themselves, they’re still building towards the championship so it has the making of a good game.
He added: “Tyrone will want to make the most of the games they have left and Mickey won’t have given up hope of finishing in the top two.”
