Ardboe’s Shay McGuigan believes that there is great character in the side as they progress to the Tyrone senior football championship semi-final.

A late comeback win over Trillick showed that there is a renewed confidence in the side and McGuigan feels that has been building for some time.

“That is what we are looking to build in this squad, character, and I don’t think it can be questioned after the last two weeks,” McGuigan told the Ulster Herald.

“You need that toughness in the championship to get over the line. It was exactly the same in the Clonoe game. It came right down to the wire again, which we knew would be the case.

“That’s what this team is all about. We might not have a team full of talent but we do have a team that works really hard for each other and we got our rewards for that.”
