Down manager Paddy Tally

2017 Sigerson Cup winning manager Paddy Tally has joined Galway football manager Kevin Walsh's backroom team.

The Tyrone native, who led St. Mary's College, Belfast to a shock Sigerson Cup final victory over a star-studded UCD last spring, is one of the most highly-rated coaches in the game. He worked with Mickey Harte when Tyrone won their maiden All-Ireland title in 2003 and was involved with Down when they reached the All-Ireland final in 2010, only to lose to Cork by a point.

Tally also coached Derry during Brian McIver's reign between 2013 and '15.

According to the Irish Independent, Kevin Walsh has retained Sean Conlon and Brian Silke as his selectors for the coming year, while Keith Carr has also come on board as a strength and conditioning coach, having previously worked with Roscommon and Westmeath.
