Celbridge Over 35s

Celbridge have been doing a month long challenge in support of five charities with the focus this Saturday on the Irish Kidney Association and the promotion of organ donation.

The five charities to benefit equally from the Challenge events are Pieta House, AsIAm, One Day:Lesotho, National Breast Cancer Research Institute and the Irish Kidney Association.

The club’s senior footballers ran miles and senior camogie player kilometres, with the ladies football squad running mini marathons and senior hurlers running Marathons.

This weekend their efforts come to a close with the club’s  'Elite over 35s' doing their bit for the Celbridge GAA '10k in May Challenge' with the spotlight on the Irish Kidney Association and organ donation.

Celbridge GAA stalwart Tommy Stack will be among the twenty Elite over 35s invested in ensuring the upcoming event is a success in generating funds for the Irish Kidney Association as it is a cause close to his heart. His brother is the renowned Prof. Austin Stack, Professor of Medicine and Consultant Nephrologist at  University Hospital Limerick who has been caring for kidney patients throughout his esteemed medical career.
