Waterford manager Liam Cahill has hailed the impact some of the younger players have made on the squad.

An opening day league win over Cork was recorded last Sunday without the services of some key players and Cahill told the Waterford News & Star that the youngsters are taking their chance.

“What this whole set up is about is finding the players that will give you the edge when the summer comes around,” stated Cahill.

“Really pleased. We’ll do it more as the league goes on but always trying to get a result as well. Exciting times ahead and looking forward to the next challenge that comes.”
