Dan Shanahan has been appointed Waterford's new camogie coach.
The announcement comes just hours after his St Mary's team lost the Munster club JHC final to Cork's Russell Rovers in Dungarvan. The 2007 Hurler of the Year will link up with manager Fergal O'Brien, who he previously worked alongside when they were part of Derek McGrath's Waterford senior hurling management set-up.
The Deise camogs have made huge strides in recent seasons and gave a good account of themselves in losing to eventual champions Galway in this year's All-Ireland quarter-final.
