New Antrim hurling manager Darren Gleeson has made promotion from Division 2A of the Allianz League a priority for 2020.

The former Tipperary goalkeeper, who has succeeded Neal Peden in the role, told the Irish News: "Antrim can become a top level team again.

"We have an opportunity next spring to get back into the top 12, we'll be targeting a big performance in that. The National League would be a huge focus for me.

"I'm approaching it with enthusiasm, the players are what excite me. I see what they're willing to do, I see the capabilities they have with their clubs, I just want to gel that into the Saffron jersey and to see them be the best they can be.

"We're going to work hard and when we got out onto the field we're going to do everything we can and see where the journey takes us."
