Seamus Callanan played down his incredible goal-scoring feats after captaining Tipperary to an emphatic All-Ireland SHC final victory over 14-man Kilkenny.

The 31-year-old found the net in all eight of Tipperary's championship games this year, having also become the county's highest goal-scorer back in June when he surpassed Lar Corbett's record of 29 goals.

"That doesn't really matter when you’ve a performance like that from everybody else," he told The Sunday Game immediately after the final whistle.

"You can see the lads coming out from the back catching high balls.  Constantly constantly driving out. It’s a complete effort from everyone that’s there, the backroom team and panel of 40. We’ll just enjoy this, it’s brilliant."

Callanan was full of praise for the impact Liam Sheedy has had since returning to the Tipp hot-seat at the start of the year.

"Liam is a legend, I’m so delighted for him. He’s put so much into it here. It’s great for the whole group, there’s serious support too as well, it’s just unbelievable," he continued.

"It’s every hurler's dream since they were a young lad and I’m finally going to get up those steps (of the Hogan Stand). I’m going to enjoy every bit of it."
