Galway hurling boss Micheál Donoghue is set to receive a welcome boost with Joseph Cooney believed to be on his way home from Australia.
The Irish Daily Star reports that Cooney could be back in the Tribesmen’s plans as soon as next week, while there also could be another return this summer for the New York-based Jonathan Glynn.
The returns would surely be most welcomed by Donoghue after his star forward Joe Canning was ruled out for the entire Leinster senior hurling championship with a groin injury sustained in last month’s National League semi-final loss to Waterford.
Galway commence their provincial title defence against Carlow in Salthill on May 12th.
