Eddie Brennan praised Laois' team-work after they registered their first win in Division 1B at Offaly's expense on Saturday night

“The lads were well tuned-in for this and they performed as well as I can ask of them so far. We had two tough matches to start so there’s no doubt you target matches at home," the O'Moore County boss told Laois Today.

“You know we’ve been fierce disappointed at a group with the four goals against Waterford so that was very much a focus for our backs tonight. They worked very well as a unit. They played for each other and that was the simple message.

“I mean the scores will happen and your hurling instincts take over when you’re working hard and that was all they did tonight – they really worked hard for each other, they were relentless probably in the first half.

“We could’ve had another couple of points, maybe another goal. But look, overall it’s two points and I’m fierce happy with that but we just have to reset the heads and get ready for next weekend,”
