Kerry star Sean O’Shea netted two goals as UCC qualified for this year’s Sigerson Cup final.

The Cork college got the better of NUIG in today’s semi-final at Mallow on a scoreline of 4-9 to 1-15 and will now face St Mary’s in the decider which is scheduled to be played in Parnell Park this Wednesday (7.30pm).

Kingdom prodigy O’Shea found the back of the Galway side’s net twice in the opening period and his team held a slender 2-3 to 0-8 advantage at the break.

A John Maher goal gave NUIG the perfect start to the second-half but that was cancelled out by Eimhin Courtney shortly after

A fourth UCC goal arrived via the boot of Conor Geaney in the 52nd minute and that score ultimately separated the teams at the final whistle.

O’Shea top scored for the winners with 2-3 while Geaney also chipped in with four points (three from play).
