Wexford GAA Secretary Margaret Doyle has stated that they are to request a hearing into their proposed sanction for breaching training regulations.

The Model County hurlers, along with the Waterford, Laois and Armagh footballers are alleged to have breached rules by holding training camps during the ‘club only’ month of April.

Wexford spent a few days in Portugal during the month, but have stressed that no training took place and it was just a break away for the players.

Doyle told the Wexford People that they were not appealing the decision, but they are seeking a hearing from the Central Hearings Committee over the matter.

“It’s not an appeal but a hearing we will be seeking. The hearing is expected to take place on Monday night. We will be putting our best foot forward and take it from there,” stated Doyle.
