Dublin SHC final: Stalemate in Parnell Park and replay fixed for next Sunday

October 21, 2018

Ballyboden St. Enda's Niall McMorrow moves in to challenge Ross O'Carroll of Kilmacud Crokes in the Dublin SHC final at Parnell Park

Kilmacud Crokes and Ballyboden St Enda’s must do it all again after extra-time failed to produce a winner in today’s Dublin SHC decider at Parnell Park.

It finished Kilmacud Crokes 1-20, Ballyboden St Enda’s 2-17 following an edge of the seat encounter at the Donnycarney venue and the replay has been fixed for next Sunday at 3.30pm.

Late points from Niall McMorrow and Paul Ryan saw ‘Boden come from behind to level matters and the replay means Kilmacud will have a busy weekend as they are due to take on St Jude’s in the football equivalent on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Anthony Daly’s side had Cian MacGabhann and Marc Howard – who finished with 11 points to his name – to thank for sending the game into extra-time.

The scoreboard read Kilmacud 1-14, Ballyboden St Enda’s 2-11 at the end of the regulation 60 minutes.

Sean McGrath netted the Stillorgan side’s goal while Paul Doherty and Aidan Mellett bagged Ballyboden’s goals.

Left corner-forward Ryan shared the scoring honours with Crokes’ Howard and three of his 11 points came from open play.
