Daly: we've won nothing yet

Anthony Daly claims the Kilmacud Crokes celebrations were muted after they dethroned back-to-back All-Ireland club champions Cuala in the Dublin SHC semi-final.

The Clare legend, who has been making a 500km from his Clarecastle base to Stillorgan for training this year, says the win will count for nothing if Crokes don't go on to beat Ballyboden St Enda's in Sunday's county final.

"It's huge. But it's no cup. It would be great to knock out Cuala and be getting the championship. To knock out Cuala and get a resurgent 'Boden then is a totally different prospect," he said.

"To be fair, by the time we left the dressing-room, we tried to numb all that and just say 'it's done.' We may be able to look back at it at the end of the year with a bit of fondness. But there'll be no fondness if we lose the final."

Daly added: "Cuala were a long time on the road. And there is an element of that in it. I suppose all week before the Cuala match, our line was 'can we ask the questions?' It's very difficult to keep that hunger in the gut all the time."
