Dublin SHC: Daly's Crokes dethrone Cuala

October 07, 2018

Kilmacud Crokes' Oisin O'Rourke celebrates at the final whistle against Cuala

Cuala’s reign as Dublin, Leinster and All-Ireland club hurling champions is over.

The Dalkey side finished on the wrong end of the 3-13 to 1-17 scoreline in today’s Dublin SHC semi-final against the Anthony Daly managed Kilmacud Crokes.

The Stillorgan-based outfit bossed the first-half exchanges and took a commanding 2-8 to 0-7 lead into the half-time break.

Their goals arrived courtesy of Oisin O’Rorke and Ronan Hayes while Damien Kelly added a third shortly after the resumption.

Sean Moran pulled a goal back for Mattie Kenny’s side via the penalty spot but they had left themselves with too big a mountain to climb.

Crokes will now take on Ballyboden St Enda’s in the decider on Sunday 21 October after their 2-16 to 0-18 win over St Vincent’s.
