Noel McGrath didn't forget the young fan who consoled him after Tipperary's gut-wrenching defeat to Clare two months ago...

Tipp were sent crashing out of the championship as Clare came from eight points down to register a first Munster SHC victory over the Premier County in Thurles in 90 years.

When the final whistle sounded at Semple Stadium, Loughmore-Castleiney ace McGrath dropped to his knees. Kilruane MacDonaghs camogie player Sarah Cleary was the first to comfort the heartbroken McGrath.

On Monday evening, after the Jim Devitt Cup final between their respective clubs, Noel repaid Sarah's act of kindness by presenting her with the jersey he wore during the Clare game.

In the words of his former county teammate Shane McGrath: Noel is "a legend and a hero in more ways than one to so many in Tipperary and beyond."
