Kilkenny manager Brian Cody believes that he will learn a lot more about his young charges following Sunday's clash against Galway.

In an historic first, Galway will host a Leinster SHC clash at Pearse Stadium and who better to have in that first encounter than the Cats.

The 2018 NHL champions have defeated Dublin and Offaly in their opening two games, while Galway have just played the once, beating Offaly two weeks ago.

Both sides will feel that this is their biggest test to date, a thought Cody is also thinking as he revealed to the Kilkenny People.

"It is going to be a real test. It will help us find out where we are at," said Cody. "They are the All-Ireland champions and they are impressive looking.

"It is a brilliant challenge to be faced. Galway will be hotly fancied to take the points, but we'll be going over to do everything in our power that will give us every possible chance."
