Tyrone are sweating on the fitness of Colm Cavanagh ahead of their Ulster SFC quarter-final against Monaghan on May 20.

The All Star midfielder, who won an All-Ireland club IFC medal with Moy in February, hasn't been able to train since suffering a quad muscle injury prior to the Red Hands' Allianz League game against Kerry at the end of last month.

Tyrone PRO Eugene McConnell revealed to the Irish News: "Colm hasn't been able to return to training as of yet. With the type of injury that he has, it's rest and recovery, and any exertion can exacerbate his problem."

There is better news concerning Tiernan McCann who has returned to training after missing most of the Allianz League with a kneecap problem.

"He's maybe not back in intensive training yet, but he's back out and mobile again, and doing enough to merit consideration for selection," McConnell added.
