Carlow full back Paul Doyle is adamant that they will not be taking Meath for granted in their rescheduled NHL 2A clash.

A win for the Barrowsiders should see them through to the Division 2A final and following last week's win over Kildare, they are going into the game in a confident frame of mind.

In contrast, Meath suffered a heavy defeat to Kerry in their last outing and also lost the previous game to Westmeath as their promotions hopes have gone for another year.

"We are looking forward to our next match against Meath, where we are hoping for a win," Doyle told the Carlow Nationalist. "This will be a tough place to go, there is no doubt about that."

He added: "We definitely have stuff to work on and will be hoping to improve. A win in Meath would mean we are in a league final."
