Tipperary defender Michael Cahill has returned to the squad this week following the completion of exams.

The All-Ireland winning defender missed the opening couple of rounds of the NHL campaign due to exam commitments, but his return at corner-back ahead of the clash against Wexford this weekend is a huge boost to the Premier County.

Tipp manager Michael Ryan admitted that Cahill's return has lifted the whole set-up, such is the esteem that the Thurles Sarsfields clubman is held by his team mates.

"Mickey Cahill has come back to us this week. He was doing some exams so he wasn't around. And, he has just come back with a huge freshness and an enthusiasm that really has been infectious," Ryan told the Tipperary Star.

"So getting back a Mickey Cahill like that is really good. And, there are other fellas too. We are keen to get Daire Quinn back hurling - he is back on his feet this week and we are eager to get him back on the pitch, it would be really good."
