UL boss Gary Kirby was surprised by his side's winning margin in yesterday's Fitzgibbon Cup quarter-final against UCC.
The Limerick champions inflicted a 22-point defeat on the 38-time winners to set up a mouth-watering semi-final with DJ Carey's IT Carlow next Tuesday.
"We didn't expect that," the former Limerick star admitted to the Irish Examiner.
"UCC are a strong outfit with a great tradition. Our guys set the marker from the word go and that set the tone for the game.
"We know we have the talent here, we know we have some super players. That is no good, though, unless you get the work-rate with it. Today, the work-rate was great."
