There was an early start to the 2018 intercounty season on this blustery Saturday afternoon.
A total of eleven games threw in at 2pm, with first-round football action in the O'Byrne Cup (Westmeath V Laois, Offaly V Wexford, Louth V Longford, Wicklow V Carlow) and McGrath Cup (Clare V Waterford) as well as hurling fare from the Walsh Cup (Offaly V Westmeath, Meath V Antrim, Carlow V Wicklow, Kildare V Laois), Munster senior hurling league (Clare V Kerry) and Kehoe Cup (Longford V Louth).
An entertaining day's action was served up as new-look teams braved the wintry conditions to take their first steps down what they're all hoping will be the road to glory next summer. Summer feels a long way off right now...
