Glenealy manager Gary Laffan is confident his charges can match St Patrick's Ballyragget in the Leinster club IHC final.

Laffan guided the Wicklow champions to a surprise win over Wexford champions St Anne's in the semi-final last weekend and as a native of the county, he had some inside knowledge on the side.

Now, the 1996 All-Ireland SHC winner must turn his attention to a side from a county that he has had many great battles with down through the years.

And Laffan admitted to the Wicklow People that they will not be given a chance against the Kilkenny side, not that it worries the experienced manager.

"It will be a great occasion and of course we're underdogs but who cares about underdogs, let the bookies put a price and let it be so," stated Laffan.

"It's 15 men against 15 men and we have five or six subs who can come on and do a job. Let's just get a performance, we're recovering this week and we'll get the boys in good form for next week. Get a performance and see where it takes us."
