We can't take our foot off the pedal - Harte

Tyrone boss Mickey Harte says his team must keep their foot on the pedal if they are to come through the Super 8s and advance into another All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

The Red Hands routed Cavan last weekend to extend their summer by three more games at least and face Connacht champions Roscommon in a crunch clash at Dr Hyde Park this Saturday.

"There have been occasions this year when we have taken our foot off the pedal and allowed teams we were playing to get back into games. They were then able to finish with a more respectable score than we would have liked them to have had," Harte told the Belfast Telegraph.

"We can't afford to do that in the Super 8s where the intensity will certainly be upped considerably. We have to be aware of that, and I think it is that idea that if you are in control of a game then you shouldn't lose that control.

"I think we showed against Cavan that we would keep going right to the end and that's what we will have to do for as long as we are involved in the current Championship."
