Galway manager Kevin Walsh is planning without injured captain Damien Comer for Sunday's Connacht SFC final against Roscommon.

The final at Pearse Stadium will come too soon for the big full forward who is continuing his recovery from ankle surgery.

“This weekend is probably too soon for him,” Walsh told the Irish Examiner.

“He’s back [running] straight lines so, hopefully, the boys can do the business [without him]. In terms of a [return], hopefully, the next two weeks. Again, it is down to how he reacts.”

Ciaran Duggan is also ruled out with a knee injury, while Paul Conroy - who recently returned to club action following a double leg break last summer - won't be considered for selection either.
