Tensions were sure to rise at Breffni Park tonight as Cavan entertained Monaghan in a mouth-watering Ulster SFC quarter-final.

It was Mickey Graham's first championship match in charge of his native county and it doesn't get much bigger than a derby clash with the Farney County.

With a provincial semi-final spot against either Armagh or Down up for grabs (and Tyrone and Donegal on the other side of the draw), the stakes were high and neither team would want to lose to their local rivals in the first round.
