Paul Geaney reckons Kerry laid down a marker for the summer by defeating Dublin in Tralee in February.

The Kingdom came out on top in a thrilling Division One clash with the All-Ireland champions at Austin Stack Park and Geaney says it was a vital victory for Peter Keane’s new-look team:

“It’s invaluable, the experience of it, it’s a big game no matter what — league or not, it was a big game,” the Dingle ace told The Irish Sun. “It was bigger still because of the scramble for tickets and the buzz that went with it.

“We were going well in the league at the time. Then it is the All-Ireland champions coming down to Tralee, so it was definitely valuable. The more games you can get like that for a new squad — we had a couple of new guys on the squad that night.”
